4 Axis on Solid

Presentation

This command enables to create profiles for 4 axis machining by clicking the faces of the solid.

Click on starting and ending faces and then the starting point. A new entity ‘double-profile’ is created, which will be recognized later when creating the threading point

To use this function

Click on the starting face.

An arrow shows the direction of machining.

You can click the arrow to invert the direction.

Click on the ending face; if you click the same face, the profile will be closed.

A pre-visualization of the profile is displayed, where you can see the synchro points between the high and low profiles.

You can change the start/end faces of the profile:

[1]Automatic selection: if you click this icon, GO2cam selects the best face for the starting face.

[2]Manual selection: you can click any face of the solid profile.

You can also move the start and/or end point:

simply click the green element and move it along the face. Drop it on the right position.

Validate with [4] or cancel with [3].

When you validate, the profile is created. In this case, we create a new type of entity: a 'double-profile'.

Notes:

  • the double-profile will be automatically recognized by Automatic Threading Point,

  • later, you can edit and modify the profile with contextual popup (right-click on the profile).

  • the selection of machining is much easier: only one click on the double-profile!
