Toolpath and Offset Type

Cycles: All Manual Cycles, Plunge Contouring

Definition

These commands are used to define the pilot points and the calculation of the toolpath.

Offset type

Determines whether the tool radius compensation is taken into account or not.
The options of the pull down menu are:

Left: A G41 is generated into the ISO code.

Center: A G40 is generated into the ISO code.

Right: A G42 is generated into the ISO code.

Toolpath

Determines if the toolpath generated by GO2cam will take into consideration the tool radius.
The pull down menu offers:

Left: GO2cam generates an offset toolpath to the left of the profile and manages the zones where the tool cannot machine the contour because of its size.

Part: GO2cam does not recompute a shifted trajectory.
If the tool does not pass, GO2cam recomputes a new suitable course and thus manages the collisions.

Right: Same as left option, but on the right of the toolpath.

No gouge check: GO2cam generates a toolpath corresponding exactly to the profile (no offset) and there is no gouge check.

Automatic control of the side of machining, for manual cycles programmed on solids.
This is not available with 2D profiles (including edges).

All Manual Cycles

Automatic control of the side of machining

For manual cycles programmed on solids. This is not available with 2D profiles (including edges).

If the direction of profile and the direction of toolpath do not fit according to the shape of solid, GO2cam automatically inverts the profile direction.

In the image on the right, the profile is counterclockwise and the tool is programmed on the left side of solid: GO2cam automatically inverts the profile direction to avoid machining inside the workpiece.

R max Coef

R max coef: In case of ‘Part’ toolpath, some machines do not accept a radius equal to the tool radius. GO2cam manages this situation with the R max coefficient.

With 1.01, the radius of the toolpath will be R= tool radius x 1.01.

Corner Type

With this option, you can generate G2/G3 (arcs) in the sharps angles.

The option ‘Intermediate’ is available for closed profiles only. The generation of G2/G3 is done on all the corners except on the last corner.

Example on path Left/Left:

Circle Mode

None

Intermediate mode
