Altitudes and Depths - Back Machining

Cycle: Back Machining, Interpolation

Definition

Three main references have to be defined:

  • top face altitude

  • back altitude

  • depth of back machining

It is also possible to program the same machining on the top face than the one on the back face (counter boring or reaming). In this case, a fourth option is necessary.

General case

These options are explained with the following example: a counter boring operation on the back face.

1: Altitude / Reference

Starting altitude of machining:

  • Entity: altitude of the entity, hole or circle.

  • Stock: safe whatever is the stock shape.

2: Depth / Reference is not available

3: Back Altitude / Reference

Altitude of the back face:

  • Entity: value in the entity, hole or circle.

  • Stock: safe whatever is the stock shape.

4: Back depth / Reference:

  • Entity: altitude of the circle or value read in the hole.

  • Stock: safe whatever is the stock shape.

  • Manual / Entity: enter the value in Back Depth, it will be relative to the entity value.

  • Manual / Stock: enter the value in Back Depth, it will be relative to the stock.

Cycle: Back Machining

Special case for Back Machining

These options are explained with the following example: a counter boring operation on the back face, and the same operation in the top face.

First to set the option Machining of the top before the plunge to Yes.

1: Altitude / Reference

Starting altitude of machining:

  • Stock: safe whatever is the stock shape.

  • Entity: value in the entity, hole or circle.

2: Depth / Reference

  • Entity: value contained in the element, okay for the hole, not possible if the element is a circle.

  • Stock: value of the stock, rare.

  • Manual / Entity: enter the value in Back Depth, it will be relative to the entity position.

  • Manual / Stock: enter the value in Back Depth, it will be relative to the stock value.

  • Manual / Entity: enter the value in Back Depth, it will be relative to the entity.

  • Manual / Stock: enter the value in Back Depth, it will be relative to the stock.

Final Dwell

It is the delay at the end of machining, in seconds.
