Question

What are the rules of creation of a work-holding device symbol?

1. Creating a work-holding device

   • Create a Solid Rectangular Cuboid:
     In the Clamping and Toolholders module, generate a solid rectangular cuboid.

2. Access the Vice and Clamps Menu:
   Navigate to the creation menu and select the "Vice and Clamps" option to access the axis system creation function.

3. Set Up Axis Systems:

   • Create the first axis system at the origin for the symbols.

   • Create four additional axis systems on each face of the rectangle for the clamps.

4. Save the Symbols:
   Save the created symbols for later use.

5. Start a New Project in MPM Product:

   • Create a new project.

   • Click "GO" to import a machine file, validate it, and then load the vice and clamps.

   • Select the symbol you previously created.

6. Define Work-holding Device:

   • Set the origin and group for the work-holding device.

   • Save the work-holding device configuration.

7. Load and Position the Workpiece:

   • Click on "Part" to load your workpiece.

   • Place it on a support face and use the "Copy Part to Free Support" button to populate all free supports with the part.
