Upwarding Machining

Cycle: Plunge Contouring

Definition

It is the option to program a toolpath with only plunge machining or with upward and downward machining.

By default, the option is set to No, which means that the toolpath is done only with plunge motions. In this case, a retract distance can be defined to protect the tool during the retraction motion to the next pass.

If the option is set to Yes, the toolpath will be continuous on the profile. No retract distance is necessary.
