Scallop

Cycle: millyuGO, PAM, Roughing/Reworking, Facing Roughing, Finishing, Finish Reworking - shape

Scallop Value

It is a user-defined tolerance that specifies the maximum allowable scallop height remaining between successive tool passes. With the scallop value, the stepover distance is internally computed to guarantee a consistent surface finish quality.

With small Scallop.

(Scallop Value set to 0.1 mm)

Scallop Reworking

A corrective machining function that generates supplementary tool passes in localized areas where the programmed scallop value is not respected. Scallop reworking ensures that residual scallop height in complex or steep surface regions are reduced below the defined tolerance without reducing stepover overall.

Constant Scallop

A finishing strategy in which the stepover distance is dynamically adjusted according to the local surface curvature so that the scallop height remains uniform across the entire machined surface. This method provides a homogeneous surface finish.
