Point

203.png

Creation of geometric points by 4 different modes.

Point

203.png

3 ways to create a point:

  1. by defining its coordinates in the dialogue area

  2. by clicking in the background, either on-the-fly or using the Ctrl key to call the grid,

  3. by clicking existing geometry:

  • arcs, segments and solid edges to recover either the middle or the extremity of element

  • intersection of elements, ( see video on the right)

  • arcs and circles and use Ctrl+Shift keys to get the center

  • solid face to create its barycenter,

  • cylindrical solid face to gets its center.

Relative Point

30514.png

Creation of a point linked to another point (or middle, extremity of element)

The process is to click first on the ‘origin’ point', then define the position of the needed point by entering coordinates. Those coordinates can be expressed in absolute or given in relative to the ‘origin’ point. For this, you should modify the options to ‘Relative mode’. Please watch the video below to see one concrete example

Coefficient

30511.png

Creation of points on a given geometry (arc, segment or curve)

There are 2 ways:

  • by defining positions with a percentage of the element length,

  • by defining positions with a distance from the element extremity.

Please watch the video below.

Midpoint

ability to create points at the exact mid-distance of 2 points, that can be extremities, centers or points. Several cases are given in the videos besides and below.
