Definition for Roughing //Roughing, Balanced Roughing
In order to break the chip while turning, we created those options that cut the toolpath according to a certain increment (Length of cut). The tool motion is stopped with a dwell value that can be expressed in seconds or revolutions. | ![]() | ![]() |
There are two types of leadin in the chip-break mode: linear or circular. A Retract distance enables the tool to retract at each step. Linked to this option is a new Coefficient of feedrate reduction, defined in the page Options, to accelerate this retract motion. | ![]() | ![]() |

Definition for TurnyuGO
A retract to 45°is utilized to manage chip breaking. As for roughing, we use the length of cut to run the retract and a retract value. Leadin can be done either linear or circular. | ![]() | ![]() |
