Program and Edit Toolpaths

The stock and the environment are defined, you can now program the machining toolpaths

Definition of the toolpath

This is the heart of our job: offering you many different abilities to program toolpaths. In any technology, the cycles are classified in families regarding the type of path you have to define. Programming a toolpath is done applying the same philosophy in milling, wire EDM, turning and Swiss Machining.

The principle is to follow 3 stages, represented by 3 contextual icons (different for each cycle family):

Geometry Selection

Choice of the tool in your library of tools

Choice of the cycle in your library of technos

 Machining Tree

The machining tree displays the machining environment (machine, material etc.) and the operations programmed on the part.

The machining tree is a powerful device which enables especially the following actions:

  • Editing: double-click on a cycle to modify its toolpath, change a strategy parameter or change a tool,

  • Moving and copying cycles,

  • Complementary commands: define subprograms, add toolpath technos (stop, coolant...), hide a cycle etc.

  • Creation of Operations Lists that can be used later to program other parts.
