4X Finishing Parallel Plane

As in 2X ½ milling, the toolpath is a sweeping following the shape of the part, with parallel passes in the XY plane.

Key Points

  • A tilt of the tool is done in the direction of sweeping; The purpose of 4th axis is to tilt the tool to avoid the machining at the center of tool

  • Useful for smooth boss shapes (not too vertical).

The scallop is not respected.
