Solid Analysis

Presentation

This function makes the topological analysis of a solid. It is a preparation device for the machining. It is obligatory in case of machining with shape cycles.

To analyse a solid

1. Click the solid to analyse

2. Adjust the analysis parameters :

  • Tolerances : Distance and Angle tolerances used for the calculation. Under these tolerances, the values of 2 lengths, 2 diameters and 2 angles are considered as equal.

  • Maxi Taper (in °) : visualization : this value enables to sort the faces which have an angle with the reference plane, in order not to visualize all the faces but only the ones that can really be considered as tapered (a 30° face is not a taper!).

  • Maximum diameter of hole : under this value, circles are considered as holes which can be drilled etc. Over this value, we consider the circle as any other shape.

3. The analysis is done, the data are categorized in 3 families :

4. Once the analysis is done, if you change some parameters values, click on update to re-analyze the solid with the new values.
