Chamfering - Turning

One only toolpath following X, Z, or XZ axes. The angle of chamfer is determined but the insert of the tool used.

Key Points

  • Selection of geometry

2 cases are possible:

  • the chamfer is designed: click one of the 2 points, define the pass depth=0 in the strategy,

  • the chamfer is not designed: click the angle point, define the pass depth value in the strategy. This depth is the direct distance from the point to the chamfer face!

Choose carefully the insert of the tool:

  • the angle of chamfer is given by the angle of insert

  • the cutting edge of insert must be long enough.
