Templates are pages including elements used in all the pages of the document: frame, name of document, version, logo of company, etc. When you create a document from a template, each created page is using this template.

The creation and registry of the template is not done with the menu File dedicated to the document. There are specific commands and dialog boxes in the menu Template:

Right-click on the page name and select edit to access more options for the page setup.

Features:

  • define the format of the document(A4, A3…), the orientation and the size of margins,

  • you can create several pages on the same document, with different layout,

  • you can rename the created pages.

  • you can change the order of pages by right-clicking to access the function in the popup menu. The list must be ordered by first column if you want those items to appear.

Table Preparation

Beforehand, the table is created with its headers and the vocabularies are positioned in 1 line; then you use the table preparation to fill the whole table in one click only!

Repeat

Ability to repeat some elements to avoid multiple selection: texts, vocabularies, user questions, 3D Windows and tables.

Templates

Templates are sheets used only for the creation of documents. The files are saved in the *.TMOD extension in the folder Templates of the installation directory.

3 options are available to manage templates; simply go to the Template menu:

Open a template

472-20220718-042830.png

Save a template

Delete templates

Definition of a template is similar to that of a document.

Make use of the Design and Layout menu to define a template.

Save the page from the Template menu to define it as one.

You can define as many pages with different formats in a template, it will act as a library. When you open it to create a document, only the default 1st page will be shown. Create another page with a different format and if the format is available in the template library, it will generate that page. Else a completely blank page will be generate.

You cannot define 2 or more pages with the same formatting. Only the 1st one will be considered by the software.

▶️ Below is a video showing an example of creating a template.

Templates-20240826-111330.png

Documents

A document model can be created completely from scratch by using the Blank Document option or from a template. If a template is available in the opening window, simply click on it to start the process.

Make use of the Design and Layout menu to define the page as required. You can add as many pages as necessary for the model.

The layout menu has some very powerful tools to facilitate the creation process, such as the Vocabularies, 3D windows and Table preparation.

General and Technical Vocabularies have labels that can be placed anywhere on the page and the information will be automatically drawn from the software/system during the application step.

3D windows will automatically generate images in the document.

Table preparation eliminates repetitive tasks by filling up tables automatically only from data inserted in the first row.

Application of UWD

Application of the User Workshop Document model is done from the NC file menu in GO2cam main modules (milling, turning, etc.)

Click here for detailed information about the UWD command.

Generating UWD-20240826-111451.png

Quotation:

Another interesting example of the use of UWD is to help generate quotations documents for the manufacturing process. This works in tandem with the estimation of cost command and the various cost parameters defined, to obtain the required information. The vocabularies for the cost parameters can be defined in the model and the document will be generated.
