Process for 3D import

Presentation

Once the CAD model is imported in GO2cam, many commands enable to position and cleanup or repair the file if necessary. For this, we have gathered, some specific commands in 2 submenus:

Basic Rules for the treatment

1. Starting Steps

Icon	Name	Explanation
	Show All (Ctrl + R)	Always start by applying Ctrl-R to cancel all filters and hiding commands
	Part Positioning	To position correctly the solid (In the menu Import Repairing).

2. Control and repair the solid

Those commands are available in Import Repairing

Icon	Name	Explanation
	Solid Validity Test	Check the quality of the solid.
If the solid, after analysis, has some problems, you can use the following commands:
	Solid Sewing	Enables to repair the solid in 3 steps: surfaces simplification, re-construction of topology and finally re-construction of solid.

3. Preparation to machining

Here are some basic rules to apply before machining.

Icon	Name	Location	Explanation
	Stop Faces	Solid/Faces	creation of solids with null thickness to cover an area to avoid machining.
	Edges Extraction	Solid/Wireframe	creation of 2D elements from the edges of the solid.
	Silhouette	Solid/Wireframe	creation of 2D geometry by projection in the current plane.
	Solid Analysis	Solid/Features	is a preparation command for machining, by analyzing the shape and topology of the solid.

Other commands can be useful, such as Move Geometry to modify the solid scale.
