Parallel Plane

cbl420-20230207-083458.png

Finishing by parallel plane works in parallel passes following the surface, with a constant pitch in the plane. On parts containing vertical walls, the constant pitch in the plane will leave ridges on these walls.

Key Points

  • 1 pass finishing cycle

  • Projection of a 2D hatch on the part - the toolpath is a sweeping following the part shape with parallel passes in XY plane.
GO2cam calculates for each point the level in Z where the tool must be.

  • Fast cycle calculation

  • The crest is not respected.

  • This cycle is suitable for machining soft material or for machining parts with a low slope or machining parts with a relatively constant slope.

We recently (V6.09) modified the random distribution of points (G1 in NC file).

This improves the visual surface quality and still respects the tolerance.
