Toolpath with X steps and plunges in the middle of the groove.

Key Points

  • The tool machine the groove as follows:

    • starts from center to a side

    • goes in rapid to the center of the groove.

    • then starts from center to the opposite side of the groove.

The plunge and retract angles ensure the protection of the tool. Instead of plunging and retracting vertically, you can define 2 angles.

  • the Plunge angle enables to lead in the material with a smooth toolpath,

  • the Retract angle avoids the tool wearing out the flank of the groove when retracting.
