Safety Distance in Z and X

Definition

This option allows you to define safety distance in Z and X in the Approach or Return phases.

Safety Distance in Z



The Safety Distance [1] is calculated according to the stock.

As shown in the image on the right, a distance of 5 mm is kept from the stock.

Warning for multiple sub-pockets: Safety Distance in Z is normally applied only to the first sub-pocket. For the others, the tool may start directly in remaining material, increasing engagement and reducing tool life.

To keep a safe approach for each sub-pocket, set Z safety distance for sub-pockets (for example, 10 mm). This parameter is available only for Roughing and Balanced Roughing cycles.

Safety Distance in X




The Safety Distance [2] is calculated according to the stock.

As shown in the image on the right, a distance of 5 mm is kept from the stock on the last toolpath.
