Safety Distance for Undercut

Cycles: Roughing, Balanced Roughing

These parameters define the safety distance used for the tool approach to the remaining stock material in multiple sub-pockets. They are intended to provide a safer approach when machining multiple sub-pockets, avoiding direct engagement with the remaining material.

Description

X Safety Distance for Sub-Pockets

Defines the safety distance used for the tool approach to the remaining stock material in the additional sub-pockets along the X direction.

Z Safety Distance for Sub-Pockets

Defines the safety distance used for the tool approach to the remaining stock material in the additional sub-pockets along the Z direction.

Warning for multiple sub-pockets: On this page, the Z and X Safety Distance for Sub-Pockets parameter defines the safety distance in Z and X used when the tool approaches the remaining stock in additional sub-pockets.

Use this setting to keep a safe approach for each sub-pocket and reduce the risk of the tool starting directly in remaining material. For general guidance, see Safety Distance in Z.
