Step along profile

Cycles: Form Finishing

The Form Finishing cycle is special: to compute the toolpath, the shape of insert is projected all along the geometry, according to this parameter ‘Step along profile’.

We advise you to define small step value, such as 0.01 mm for instance. Computation time may be a little longer.

If you use values such as 0.1 or 0.2 mm, the result may be correct, but sometimes the toolpath will look strange by generating collisions. This is especially happening when the profile follows a succession of diameters.
