NC control is an optional NC code verifier and simulation module within the Machine Tool Environment (MTE) of GO2cam. It is affordable, user-friendly, accurate, and fast. NC Control lets users verify and simulate actual NC code directly on their machine models, ensuring precise validation of machining processes.

Why NC control?

Traditional CAM software simulates toolpaths before post-processing, so the simulation does not reflect the actual G-code running on the CNC machine. This approach can overlook machine kinematics, axis limits, rotary orientations, and controller-specific behaviors. Discrepancies between simulated and real machine motion increase the risk of errors or collisions.

Manufacturers often use external G-code verification tools (e.g., VERICUT, NCSimul, Eureka). These tools require extra data transfers, complicate workflows, and add costs.

GO2cam’s NC Control solves these issues by integrating NC code verification within the CAM environment. The simulation links to the post-processor, so changes to it immediately update the machine simulation, including inter-cycle movements.

  • Most CAM systems simulate toolpaths, showing only the programmed cutter path without simulating the actual G-code run on the CNC machine. This causes discrepancies between simulation and real machine motion. External G-code verification tools add complexity and cost.

  • GO2cam integrates NC Control and machine simulation within the CAM environment, simulating the actual G-code generated by its post-processor. Programming, post-processing, and NC verification occur in one system, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

Key Benefits of NC Control

  • Cost and Time Efficiency: Reduces reliance on third-party verification tools, streamlining workflow and lowering expenses.

  • Integrated Workflow: All CAM programming, post-processing, and NC verification are performed in one system, eliminating the need for external software installation, training, and updates.

  • Enhanced Accuracy: Simulates actual G-code from the post-processor to avoid stock, finish part, or tooling errors.

  • Eliminates Redundant Machine Definitions: No need to define machines in both CAM and verification software.

  • Rapid Verification: Allows immediate checking of NC Code and modification of toolpath for quick adjustments.

  • Wide Compatibility: Compatible with most NC controllers, including Siemens, Heidenhain, Mazak, Haas, Fanuc, etc.

  • Flexibility: Supports manual modification of the NC file with immediate control, ensuring machine movements in MTE match real machine movements.

  • Reliable Collision Check: NC Control provides a dependable collision check based on the NC Code, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
