GO2cam applies contouring path in center tool mode by cutting the shape by Z levels.

Key Points

  • With the concept of « Crest Height » and « Slope Following », the finishing cycle can be applied to a majority of topologies.

  • By defining leadin and leadout radii, we obtain « approach/return » in material in ‘falling leaf’ motion well adapted to HSM machines.

  • The constant Z increment (constant crest=no) is much more adapted to vertical faces. The constant crest height gives a better result on faces with a small slope.

  • You can combine the constant Z increment with a slope following calculation. This way you get a number of passes smaller than with constant crest height to yes, but the result is not always very good.

  • This solution is a good compromise for semi-finishing passes.

This cycle cannot calculate toolpath on flat faces.
