GO2cam applies contouring path in center tool mode by cutting the shape by Z levels.

Key Points

  • With the concept of Crest Height and Slope Following, the finishing cycle can be applied to a majority of topologies.

  • By defining lead in and lead out radii, obtain « approach/return » in material in ‘falling leaf’ motion well adapted to HSM machines.

  • The constant Z increment (constant crest=no) is much more adapted to vertical faces. The constant crest height gives a better result on faces with a small slope.

  • The constant Z increment can be combined with a slope-following calculation. This approach results in a reduced number of passes compared to when constant crest height is set to Yes; however, the outcome is not always optimal.

  • This solution is a good compromise for semi-finishing passes.

This cycle cannot calculate toolpath on flat faces.
