Post-Processors
Presentation of Post-Processors
A post-processor enables to generate codes regarding the type of CNC used. We deliver standard Post-processors for the main types of controllers. These Post-Processors can be partly customized by the user.
Using post-processors in GO2cam can be divided in 3 levels:
For each controller we use standard post-processors, which means that they are useful for each type of controller; T50_Fanuc is used for Fanuc Oi, OT, 6T, 10T etc.,
Some configurations of the standard post-processors are available in the machine file,
Specific operations request some specific developments done by a technician.
Post-Processors Customization
In the machine file, choose a standard post-processor. The pages corresponding to the post-processor chosen appear automatically on the left of the dialog. The first pages are specific to each post-processor. In there, many different parameters are available.
You can for example define the tool call and the tool change position, define the origin treatment, the program number address (‘O’ or ‘:’) and many other adjustments.
The next pages are similar whatever is the post-processor:
Parameters of the blocks: definition of the blocks format,
Parameters for the interpolation: management of the circular interpolation,
Comments: ability to add automatic comments before the program, at the start of the program and at each cycle and tool change
Keys: you can also change the addresses letters format.
Examples of definition of the syntax of the NC codes, in the page Keys:
you may want to have G01 or G1. Fill the value of the ‘mini number’ for each pp key.
to express the coordinates X10. Or X10, set yes or no in the ‘obligatory point’ column.
to express X+20.000, set ‘+’ to yes and fill ‘3’ on the ‘mini deci’ column.
Once the modifications are done, save the machine file.
You can define a default machine file in Tools / Options / Machining. This machine is automatically loaded each time you open GO2cam.
