Geometry selection defines the contours, areas or faces used by a milling operation. Select the geometry required by the operation, check its boundaries and direction, then define the machining levels where applicable.
Start with the base geometry: a wireframe drawing or a solid model. Use the related commands when you need to adjust the selection or define additional machining limits.
Geometry Selection in Milling Wireframe
Select profiles from drawing elements such as lines and arcs. The wireframe guide covers manual profile chaining, precise starting and ending points, pockets and islands, stock boundaries and Z altitudes.
Solid Geometry Selection
Select geometry from a solid model using the documented Bottom Face, Silhouette, Profile, Silhouette Pocket or Edges Path methods.
Selection Commands and Options
Adjust the machining plane, change an island into a pocket, define open areas, reverse profile direction or optimize the order of selected geometry. This section also includes the Prepierced Hole guide.
