Chamfering

Chamfers can be machined regardless of the geometry. The edges of the chamfer may be selected directly, or a chamfer can be programmed on a sharp angle.

Key Points

  • The Slope Following option enables the programming of two different toolpaths. When the option is set to Yes, a tool with a cutting edge smaller than the chamfer size can be used.

  • Gouge check with vertical side faces:  Toolpaths are reduced to avoid the lead in/lead out moves to touch walls of pockets.

  • Choice among several options for the piloting of tools

  • Ability to use a Face Mill cutter from the chamfering tools list; useful for Face mill with 45° inserts that can break angles
