Importing CAD Files

Importing CAD files is done thanks to 2 commands:

• Workflow : A guided import wizard with a new ribbon interface that links steps to prepare machining: select machine/module, position the solid, and set machine origin. Milling/Wire EDM can auto-create stock; Turning calculates the 2D silhouette. Workflow changes by module and launch, includes checks to proceed or auto-complete with defaults, lets you go back, and saves settings for reuse.

• Import : reading 2D and 3D files, without any other automatic action. Complementary actions are necessary after the import.

After importing a file from CAD, you have the possibility to save the *.PCE file in the same directory as the CAD file used.

Simply check the following option ‘Save in the same directory as the imported file’
