Stock Calculation for 3X Milling
Stock used by Rough/rework operation
This stock is calculated internally of the rough/rework algorithm to be able to manage reworking. Thanks to this stock shape, we can apply the same operation with the same settings but different tools and machine only the remaining material. In the strategy, the option ‘Solid Stock calculation’ deals with this stock.
This stock calculation is a 3D management, in multiple planes, from all the previous toolpaths (2D, holes etc.), for any shape of tool.
This calculation is not directly visible on the screen. You can simulate to see the result of this calculation but the best for 3 axis operations is to use the Comparison command or to use the Rapid Stock computation.
The comparison is based on the same engine as the simulation but can be much more precise by choosing tolerances of display and precision. It shows remaining material and also overcuts by a customizable system of colors.
This command is available in NC File menu.
Stock Compacting: the stock is compacted, which means that only the last stock is kept when the part is saved, We save 25% of part size.
