(minus) Issue

I updated my GO2cam V6.12.207 to revision 208. Now GO2cam does not run anymore!

(tick) Solution

This error occurs because some redistributable files were updated in the meantime. Partial updates of software do not include those files; you need to download and reinstall the complete version GO2cam V6.12.208.

You can find the setup file in the Web Portal, menu Software>Download Center.

In GO2cam V6.12, when I open 5 axis General Operation, an error message appears! How to fix this issue?

image-20250410-144234.png

(tick) Solution

This error occurs because the protection file for 5X Expert is missing: this file is called mwSupport.lic and it should be located in C:\Program Files\GO2cam_Intl\GO2camV612.

Download it from here: mwSupport.lic and install it in GO2camV612 folder.

Note that in versions GO2cam V6.11 and before, the file was called mwSupport.dll.

(minus) Issue

The installation went well, but when I run the software, it starts opening and suddenly shuts down! What happens and how to fix it?

(tick) Solution

This bug happens only on old computers that are not able to read a *.dll file implemented during GO2cam installation. This is a rare situation. We fixed the issue from version 6.11.205.

Do not re-install the software, it will not give a better result, simply update to 6.11.205 or above.

(minus) Issue

I have an error message when I open a *.PCE file, why ?

(tick) Solution

This *.PCE file is dating from version GOelan V4.xx and older. Those files can not be read anymore! (For your information, the last version GOelan V4.7 dates from 2002!)

To recover those Version 4 *.PCE files, open them in GO2cam V6.09 or previous version and save them into readable *.PCE files.

(minus) Issue

When I copy my files for Preferences (*.OPG) and Options (*.OPT) to GO2cam V6.10, it does not work, why?

(tick) Solution

The users files *.OPG and *.OPT are not compatible with GO2cam V6.10!

A new mechanism for preferences and options is in place, with one unique type of file (*.ini).

You have to re-define and save your preferences in the dialogue ‘Software Configuration’.

Frequent GO2cam Crashes

If you are using an NVIDIA graphics card and experience crashes or instability, adjusting your driver settings can significantly improve performance and reliability. To ensure the best experience, it will help to configure your settings this way:

(tick) Solution

Adjusting Recommended 3D Settings

To improve stability, you must adjust the settings in your NVIDIA Control Panel.

Step 1: Open the NVIDIA Control Panel

  1. Right-click anywhere on your empty desktop background.

  2. Select NVIDIA Control Panel from the menu.

  3. In the left-hand sidebar, under 3D Settings, click on Manage 3D settings.

Step 2: Apply the Correct Configuration

Identify which version of the menu you see and apply the corresponding fix:

  • Option A: Global Presets (Workstation Profiles) If your panel displays a Global presets dropdown menu, select "Workstation App - Dynamic Streaming". This profile is specifically designed to stabilize professional applications. (refer to image 1)

  • Option B: Manual Settings (Threaded Optimization) If your panel shows a list of individual features, locate Threaded optimization in the list and set it to Off. This can prevent conflicts in applications that struggle with NVIDIA's automatic multi-threading.(refer to image 2)
