Importing Tools - GTC Standards
GO2cam tools are standardized according to:
ISO 13399: Standard for the Cutting tool data representation and exchange | |
GTC format file (Generic Tool Catalog) is a complement to ISO 13399. |
GTC has been created because the ISO 13399 standard does not cover all the necessary information. It provides an efficient exchange between the cutting tool vendor data and the applications. Sandvik and Siemens are the initiators of the GTC.
GTC brings an organized structure to tool data, enabling easy searchability and minimizing the time required for manual data handling.
In GO2cam, the user can import and read GTC files in the module Forming Tool/ Tools Libraries by using the import tools function. This function can directly read the GTC pack files in zip format. |
GTC pack files can be found from 2 sources; the first being general tool databases and the second being directly from tool manufacturer databases. Here is an example of accessing the GTC package for Sandvik Coromant:
You will find a list below for some compatible general and tool manufacturer databases for GO2cam with a link to their catalogues:
Database | Type | Link | |
---|---|---|---|
Machining Cloud | General Database | ||
Tools United | General Database | ||
SANDVIK Coromant | Tools Manufacturer Database |
Following this update, as from V6.09, all tool parameters have been homogenized to reflect the nomenclature as per the standard.
