Die Threading

This cycle is very similar to a tapping operation but this one is done for a shaft shape.

The tool used are thread dies.

Key Points

  • creation of thread with one pass and one specific tool

  • very simple to set up: select one profile (usually one segment of shaft), and define the length of machining in the strategy; if you let this length to 0, the whole profile is machined.

  • no need to back the part in the guide bush

  • no radial effort on part
