Keyseats

Ability to create Keyseats shapes ready to be machined.

As you enter the Keyseats function in the part design menu, this dialog will open up.

• Length(L) - Defined the length in z of the keyseat.

• Width (W) - Defined the width of the keyseat.

• Depth (Dp) - Defined the depth of the keyseat

• Angle (A) - Positioning angle around Z axis

• Distance (D) - Distance measurable from the 2 sides of the part (cancels the depth input)

• Position on Z - Need to set material subtraction to Z- for it to work.

1. "A" shape: Creates a closed keyseat profile.3

2. "C" shape: Creates an open keyseat profile.

Distance to Selected Point: Specifies the offset of the keyseat relative to a selected reference point.

• Material Subtraction: Defines the extent of material removal along the Z-axis. Options include:

  • Z+: Removes material in the positive Z-direction.

  • Z-: Removes material in the negative Z-direction.

  • Both: Removes material in both positive and negative Z-directions.
