Definition

This command allows you to define safety angles to avoid the insert touching.

The insert position defined in the tool page by 2 angles:

  1. Angle of the cutting edge of the insert

  2. Insert nose angle (Rhombic angle)

The angles clearances are defined according to these tool angles:

  • Front angle clearance (A)

Safety angle defined to avoid the insert front touching. It is relative to the insert angle (1).

  • Back angle clearance (B)

Safety angle defined to avoid the insert back touching. It takes into account the insert positions angles 1 and 2.

Without back and front clearances

With back and front clearances

These 2 parameters are very important for the tool life and the collision avoidance. The Front and Back angles clearances are determined according to the position of the insert. The values are given in degrees (°).
