Profile - Finishing

This cycle is logically identical to the parallel plane finishing cycle. The Profile finish works at a constant cutter offset in 2D according to the shape of the machining limitations.

Key Points

  • The tool machines by rotating as in a pocket.

  • Choice of machining methods to Start or End by the sides.

  • The toolpath is calculated to stay parallel to the shape as much as possible.

  • Few rapid movements.


Where limitation areas are defined, the cycle manages zones without material and avoids air cutting.
