Definition

It is the option of strategy of machining in case of selection of multiple contours. Multiple possibilities are given:

By Profiles

  • The contours are machined one after another, this mode avoid too much rapids. The order of passes is shown by the numbers.

By Z levels

  • The machining is done by Z levels, 'jumping' from a contour to another.

By XY Area

  • The machining is done in the X and Y direction. The order of passes can be optimized using the lateral passes option.

Cycle: Mouse Facing, Text Marking

By Area

The machining cycle is carried out by Z levels within a group of linear toolpaths. Each group is machined entirely before the tool moves to the next one. The transition between groups is performed through rapid toolpaths, which allow the tool to travel without material removal before resuming the machining cycle in the following area.

By Passes

The machining cycle is performed by Z levels in a layer-by-layer manner across the entire workpiece. The tool completes all operations at one Z level before proceeding to the next, following a sequential path composed of linear toolpaths and rapid toolpaths to navigate between machining positions.
